little vacation

So, happy week just passed. Had a little vacation. For easter weekend went over to the other island to visit some PCV's (sorry location will have to be undisclosed). But it was awesome. Fun to just act a little more carefree. That island geographically is a bit different but culturally similar. Definately more similar than the mainland where I headed next. It's crazy how different it feels to not be in the Zanzibar culture for once, and all by myself. The villages on the mainland are just different. Way WAY different lifestyle going on. Similar, but the muslim culture that Zanzibar exists with is 10 times more conservative. Anyway, it was really neat. Just made me realize how wierd it'll be when I finally return to the good old U.S.A. Anyway, headed up for a little vacation and met with the boyfriend and we spent some time looking at good old Kilimanjaro mountain. The mountain is great and so is he. It was really awesome. Its really peaceful country over there. You just wouldn't get bored stopping and staring around. Spent a great week in the Moshi area, and then got back to town and had a great night out which included a cookies and cream milkshake!!! I hate to say my day bends around such food, but really. Wouldn't the world just be a better place if there was more icecream available? Anyway, things are well.

School is progressing. Many things to do soon. Tests, exams, and projects. Thinking that I need to somehow make my way out of country and over to Rwanda. And if I have to go through Nairobi and Uganda to get there then well, that wouldn't be a tragedy. Actually was thinking about it in terms of a school field trip. I think it'd be awesome for my students in terms of an educational and cultural experience to do such things. heck I don't know.
